Posted on March 15th, 2018

Lagos, March 15, 2018 – To combat the issue of unemployment in Lagos state, Kaiser Foundation for Social Development (KFSD), through her main constituent company, Construction Kaiser Limited (CKL); at the graduation Ceremony of Trainees under the Lagos State Employability Trust Fund (LSETF), has offered 10 graduands full time employment. These outstanding graduands have been presented an opportunity by CKL to develop the skills acquired at the ongoing LSETF skills acquisition program and also earn a living. The graduands were selected from the Construction related streams based on their outstanding performance while undergoing artisan training at CKL partner sites.

KFSD is in partnership with LSETF by providing training sites and other resources for the training program. This is in line with one of the foundation’s program offering tagged- Artisan Training Program (ATP). This program is geared at safely improving the quality of construction work processes in order to increase the market share of local artisans with the right working skills.

LSETF was established by The Lagos State Employment Trust Fund Law 2016 to provide financial support to residents of Lagos State, for job, wealth creation and to tackle unemployment. LSEFT is currently partnering with willing organizations like CKL to fulfill its vision. CKL has made available her construction sites, manpower and resources to train participants in Formwork/Carpentry, Iron bending and Masonry, bridging the skills gap in the construction industry. About 200 participants have either been trained or are currently undergoing training.

CKL set up the Kaiser Foundation for Social Development (KFSD) a non-governmental organization to reduce youth unemployment by developing local talent in the Nigerian construction industry in 2016. The aim of KFSD is to increase the desire for Nigerian youths to study STEM (Science, Technology, Education & Math) related course and to equip artisans with skills required to improve on their services hence providing qualitative work and increasing the market share of the indigenous construction companies. KFSD is passionate about empowering Nigerians and improving industry standards. This passion has led to strategic partnerships with credible organizations like the LSEFT among others.
